Artist Statement:
The Prickly Pear Two-Step is part of a larger series, Hometown Mythologies, which constructs a novel folkloric vocabulary from personal memory and experience growing up in the San Antonio Hill Country. Through this series, I transform family stories into visual myths, blending nostalgia with fantastical imagery to give shape to an evolving, personal mythology. The entire series will be on view in April 2025 at Bright Coffee.
